An evergreen vine, several meters long, native to North America. Very frost-resistant. Dioecious. Young shoots are eaten like asparagus. Thick rhizomes are also eaten roasted. The fruit can be used to make delicious preserves, wines, liqueurs, etc. A rarity in the trade. Seeds are best sown outdoors in autumn. They usually germinate after 1.5 years. Package of 20 fresh seeds (stored wet, never dried for maximum viability).
