Spikenard (Nardostachys jatamansii) - 5 seeds
This perennial has been growing for several years in our garden in zone 6/7. The underground organs produce a highly prized, beautifully fragrant essential oil. This plant is even mentioned in the Bible. Seeds should be sown shallowly indoors on a windowsill, and seedlings should be transplanted into the garden after the last frost. The seeds do not require any pre-sowing treatment for germination. The plant requires plenty of sun and well-drained, permeable soil. Care should be taken to keep it free of weeds and (at least initially, in the first year), water during droughts. We sell a packet of 5 seeds. We only have a limited supply of these packets, so we encourage you to order while they last.
