This is monoecious perennial, native to Southern China, Bhutan, Northern India, Nepal, and Sikkim. Grows to about 1,5-2 m (5-7ft) tall. It is very densely armed by very painfull stinging hairs, but we read that it is used as vegetable (cooked) and medicinal herb in Himalayas. Rarity in trading. We do not know frost hardiness of this species yet - we are going to test it in this winter. The seeds should be sown surface. They do not need any pretreatmen to germinating. Package 12 fresh seeds (2025 yr. harvest). Only a few packages available.
