The shrub approximately 0.5-1 m tall (2-3 feet), it produces delicious (but acidous), edible, beautifully colored fruit. This species grows wild in China and Russia and is very rarely found in the trade. It can be cultivated as a unique fruiting shrub or used to breed new noble varieties. Seeds should be sown in autumn in a cool basement in pots or outside or stratified in moist soil in the fridge A packet of 7 seeds (harvested in June 2025) is available.
