Wild Green Tamarillo (Solanum sciadostylis) (tree tomato species) - 12 seeds
Wild Green Tamarillo (Solanum sciadostylis = Cyphomandra sciadostylis) is native to South America (Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina). The plant closely resembles another species, the Guava Tamarillo (Solanum diploconos), but differs in features such as its hairy style (in flowers) and green fruit. This species is also very resistant to light frost and drought, surviving for up to four months without watering in winter (even a lack of water makes it more tolerant of light frosts). In colder regions, this species sheds its leaves. The leaves and thin twigs die back in winter. The plant produces highly ornamental flowers, followed by numerous, ovate, green, delicious fruits with an exotic aroma. It also has great ornamental potential. This plant can be easily propagated from seed (surface sowing) or cuttings (with a heel). This species is very difficult to buying and rare in the wild state.
Package 12 fresh seeds available. Seeds should be sown shallowly and kept in a slightly moist and warm place. They usually germinate within 1-1.5 months.
