Hybrid of two Tubergourd species (Thladiantha dubia x Thladiantha sp.) BC1 - 7 seeds

The very strong perennial hybrid climber, frost hardy to zone at least 6. This is hybrid created by us by crossing Manchu Tubergourd (Thladiantha dubia) and one other species of Tubergourd (Thaladiantha sp.). It differes from quite common in the gardens first specues by orange (not red) fruits and gently white  spotted leaves and a few other botanical details. Fruits seems to be edible when fully ripe, and we met in generation BC1 some specimens with no burning taste (which is characteristic of The. dubia) - good to eating raw (so very valuable). But not all plants has this feature. In the BC1 generation, a splitting of genes and traits is observed, but thanks to this it is possible to select valuable plants and propagate them vegetatively as new varieties, e.g. fruit ones. Fruits of our hybrid are very delicious, aromatic and very sweet, but some seedlings have burning taste and some not. Even burning fruits can be eaten - long boiled flesh of fruits loses irritating qualities and is very delicious. Very ornamental climber - numerous yellow flowers and orange fruits with orange or yellow flesh. Seeds fresh - harvested in autumn 2024. Seeds hard to find in trading. Very rare plant - we are the breeders of this hybrid and the only sellers. Sow the seeds surface. Keem moist but not very wet. You can use fungicide to covering the seeds. They germinate without any pre-treatment. To creation of fruits there are necessary male and female plants (from the seeds there should grow up both sexes) and hand pollinating (because it creates in its flowers fat oil, not nectar, and European or American bees do not want pollinate them). Package 7 seeds (harvested in autumn 2024). Only a few packages available.
