Hardy tamarillo hybrid [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum] BC1 'Pinczow 7' - 5 fresh seeds

These are seeds collected from the second (besides 'Pinczow 2') tastiest, newer variety of our tree tomato hybrids - Hardy Tamarillo's - with the working name 'Pinczow 7'. The seeds are open-pollinated (not hand-pollinated) - collected from the 'Pinczow 7' variety and pollinated by any other BC1 hybrid variety from the 'Pinczow Group' [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum] or a variety from the 'Iwona' group [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x diploconos] (BC1), or the 'Lynn' (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) F1 variety - the pollen donor is not precisely known because the flowers were pollinated by bumblebees. Some seeds may have one male parent and others a different male parent, as seeds are removed from multiple fruits. This variety is likely frost-resistant, but its hardiness is not yet known (we tested this variety, among others, and know that it overwinters in an unheated greenhouse if the roots are thickly mulched—the top freezes, but the plant bounces back from the roots—our plants overwintered this way even in the winter of 2023/2024, when frosts were very severe). The fruit ripens about 6 months after pollination (in February), but can even ripen in a cool basement in autumn/winter at temperatures around 5 degrees Celsius. The fruit of the female parent variety is very tasty, completely devoid of any unpleasant aftertaste. The female parent is one of the two tastiest varieties we've grown so far. Plants grown from these seeds can be diverse, as the most reliable method for propagating Tamarillo hybrids is through cuttings. Plants grown from seed can also produce tasty and valuable plants, but likely only a certain percentage—not all. These seeds are being offered for sale for the first time (we are the ONLY OWNER of the parent plants in the WORLD). Seeds should be sown surface-sown, in slightly moist soil, in a bright and warm place (e.g., on a windowsill, covered with a clear film, so they are neither too wet nor too dry). In such conditions, they germinate easily in about 1-1.5 months. Some seedlings may be chlorotic and die at a young age—a percentage of such seedlings do occur, so if you buy seeds, you bear the risk. This package contains 5 very fresh seeds (5 small, dry seeds—NOT fruit, NO plant). Only 1 last package there is available.
