The shrub approximately 1-1,5 m tall and wide (2-3 feet), it produces delicious (but acidous), very dark red colored fruit. Very prized wines or liques are made from this fruit. This species grows wild in Siberia and is very rarely found in the trade. It can be cultivated as a unique fruiting shrub or used to breed new noble varieties. Seeds should be sown in autumn in a cool basement in pots or outside or stratified in moist soil in the fridge A packet of 15 seeds (harvested in June 2025) is available.
