Bushkiller (Cayratia japonica) - 25 seeds
This herbaceous, relatively tall, perennial climber is quite frost-resistant (it overwinters well in our garden in zones 6/7 under cover). It is very expansive and can kill nearby plants (hence the English name "bushkiller"). Young shoots are edible when cooked and very tasty. The black berries are also said to be edible and are used for preserves (although we find them tart). It is a rare commercial plant in Europe. Seeds should be sown in autumn in a cool cellar or stratified in moist sand in the refrigerator. They germinate in spring. Packet of 25 fresh seeds.
