Hardy tamarillo hybrid (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) 'Kristina 1' - 5 seeds

These are the seeds harvested from our the harvested from one variety of our Hardy Tamarillos hybrids - working named 'Kristina 1'.

The seeds are open pollinated - harvested from 'Kristina 1' variety and pollinated by any of other BC1 hybrid varieties of 'Pinczow Group' [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum], or variety 'Iwona' Group [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x diploconos] (BC1), or variety 'Lynn' (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) F1 - the pollen donor is not stricly known, due the flowers were pollinated by bumblebees. Some seeds can have one male parent and other aonther male parent, due the seeds are removed from a few fruits. This variety is probably hardy to some frosts, but it is not known how severe ones yet. The fruits ripe after about 5 months after pollination (in December and January), but they can mature even in cool cellar in autumn/winter in temperature about 5 C degree (= 41 F degree) if plants are grown in pots and taken to cellar in autumn. The female parent it is the first fruiting variety of our Kristina Group of all which we have breeded so far. The fruits have originall appearance and good taste. "kristina 1" has about 37,5% of  Guava Tamarillo (Solanum diploconos) iand 62.5% of Hardy Tamarillo (Solanum corymbiflorum). The plants grown from the seeds can be various, due the most certain propagation manner of Tamarillo hybrid varieties is cutting. But the plants grown from seeds can also give good tasting and valuable plants but probably only in any per cent - not all. The seeds are FIRST TIME OFFERED FOR SALE. (we are THE ONLY OWNER IN THE WOLRD of the parent plants). The seeds should be sown surface and kept gently moist in light and warm place (for example on window sill, covered by transparent plastic foil, not too wet and not to dry) - in such conditions germinates easily within about 1-1,5 month. Some seedlings can be chlorotic (rarely) and die in young age - there is some per cent of such seedlings, so it is your risk if you buy the seed. Package 5 very fresh seeds (5 small dry seeds - NOT fruits and NOT plants). Only a few packages available. We will add that the price is high, but it took us a dozen or so years to breed this and similar hybrid varieties of tree tomatoes (the idea was to create a tomato that is frost-resistant and at the same time tasty). ...if you would like to see more info about our breeding working with Tamarillos crossings, there is available our article in Internet: Wojciech Maksymilian Szymański & Iwona Ziółkowska "Hybrids of Solanum corymbiflorum and S. diploconos(Solanaceae) – a hope for new commercial varieties of edible fruits" / "Híbridos de Solanum Corymbiflorum e S. diploconos (Solanaceae) – uma alternativa paranovas cultivares comerciais de frut as comestíveis" Vista do Híbridos de Solanum Corymbiflorum e S. diploconos (Solanaceae) – uma alternativa para novas cultivares comerciais de frutas comestíveis (udesc.br) https://www.revistas.udesc.br/index.php/agroveterinaria/article/view/21311/13799 Rev.
