Garden Huckleberry (Solanum scabrum) edible leaf variety - 20 seeds
Other name: Solanum melanocerasum
An annual herbaceous plant, sometimes cultivated for its fruit and leaves. The fruit is quite large and edible when fully ripe (when dull black). It is used as a filling for cakes, jams, and preserves. Characteristically, the stamens in the flowers are yellow (not brown, as in most varieties of this species). The leaves of this variety are very large and are sometimes used as a vegetable, for example, in Africa (after boiling and to throw away the water, but caution is advised). This species is quite rare in the trade. Seeds should be sown very shallowly. Grow like tomatoes. Package contains 20 fresh seeds (harvested in autumn 2025).
