Cut-leaf Chastetree (Vitex negundo var. heterophylla) - 20 fresh seeds
Other names: Huang Ping, Chinese chastetree, Cut Leaf Vitex, Cut-leaf Chastetree
A shrub native to Asia (China and India). It is the most frost-resistant species of the Vitex genus. It overwinters easily in our garden in zones 6/7. Highly aromatic. The fragrant leaves are brewed into a delicious tea, and the fruit is used as a spice. It is very ornamental (blooms in late summer) and highly melliferous. Very difficult to find in trading in Europe. A packet of 20 seeds is available (undried, stored moist for optimal viability). Seeds can be sown on a windowsill immediately after receiving them, or stored in a moist substrate in the refrigerator until spring, then sown. Only a few packets are available.
