This is a perennial climber to about 2-3m (=7ft) tall. Frost hardiness is not certainly known, but it probably can survive in at least zones 7 if well mulched. It is native to East Asia (China, Japan and Taiwan) and grows rare in wild state. In trading it is incredibly rare. The roots of this plant are used as medical herb. The fleshy berries are edible - sweetish and soft, tasty. Very ornamental climber. The seeds do not need any pre-treatment to germinating. The seeds should be sown surface, and kept gently moist and gently warm in light place. Package approximatelly 25 fresh, very small seeds harvested in September 2024 from our garden (and cool, dry stored).
