Smooth Sumach (Rhus glabra) - 30 fresh seeds

A small tree somewhat resembling Rhus typhina, but smaller, with hairless shoots and other distinguishing details. Native Americans highly valued its fruit for making lemonade and used its autumn leaves in herbal smoking blends. This species is rarely offered for sale in Europe. Offered here is a packet of 30 seeds (kept moist rather than dried to better preserve viability). Sow the seeds in pots immediately upon receipt and place the pots in a cool cellar or outdoors (well-protected); they will germinate in the spring. Alternatively, the seeds can be stratified in a moist substrate in the refrigerator.
