We created a hybrid of three wild tomato species and a wild form of the cultivated tomato. It is likely not fully stable. The plant is self-compatible, so only one plant can be grown for fruiting. Besides its delicious flavor, our hybrid also has another unusual feature: two-colored fruit. The 'Jan' tomato has only 37.5% of its genes derived from the cultivated tomato. We offer seeds that will produce F2 generation plants. The photos show F1 plants—those that produced F2 seeds. Obtaining this hybrid wasn't easy, as the individual species within it are difficult to crossbreed. This is the result of many years of work. This is an original variety due to its unusual fruit coloring—however, we don't know how stable it will be in subsequent generations.
