Hardy tamarillo hybrid [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum] BC1 'Pinczow 1' - 7 fresh seeds

These are seeds collected from one of our tree tomato hybrids – Hardy Tamarillo's – codenamed 'Pinczow 1' ('Pinczow Springs'), which, despite having 75% Solanum corymbiflorum genes, often produces yellow fruit. The seeds are open-pollinated (not hand-pollinated) – collected from the 'Pinczow 1' variety and pollinated by any other BC1 hybrid variety from the 'Pinczow Group' [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum] or a variety from the 'Iwona' group [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x diploconos] (BC1), or the 'Lynn' (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) F1 variety – the pollen donor is not precisely known, as the flowers were pollinated by bumblebees. Some seeds may have one male parent and others a different male parent, as the seeds are removed from multiple fruits. This variety is likely frost-resistant, but its hardiness is not yet known (we tested this variety, among others, and know that it overwinters in an unheated greenhouse if the roots are thickly mulched—the top freezes, but the plant bounces back from the roots—our plants overwintered this way even in the winter of 2023/24, when frosts were very severe). The fruit ripens about 6 months after pollination (in February), but can even ripen in a cool basement in autumn/winter at temperatures around 5 degrees Celsius. The fruit of the female parent variety is very tasty, with a melon-like flavor and almost completely devoid of any unpleasant aftertaste. Plants grown from these seeds can be diverse, as the most reliable method for propagating Tamarillo hybrids is by cuttings. But plants grown from seed can also produce tasty and valuable crops, but probably only a certain percentage – not all. These seeds are being offered for sale for the first time (we are the ONLY OWNER of the parent plants in the WORLD). Seeds should be sown surface-sown, in slightly moist soil, in a bright and warm place (e.g., on a windowsill, covered with a clear film, so that they are neither too wet nor too dry). In such conditions, they germinate easily in about 1-1.5 months. Some seedlings may be chlorotic and die at a young age – such seedlings occur in a certain percentage, so if you buy seeds, you bear the risk. This pack contains 7 very fresh seeds (7 small, dry seeds – NOT fruit and NOT plants). Only a few packs are available. It's worth noting that the price is quite high, as we had to strive for over a dozen years to grow these hybrids. ...if you would like to see more info about our breeding working with Tamarillos crossings, there is available our article in Internet: Wojciech Maksymilian Szymański & Iwona Ziółkowska "Hybrids of Solanum corymbiflorum and S. diploconos(Solanaceae) – a hope for new commercial varieties of edible fruits" / "Híbridos de Solanum Corymbiflorum e S. diploconos (Solanaceae) – uma alternativa paranovas cultivares comerciais de frut as comestíveis" Vista do Híbridos de Solanum Corymbiflorum e S. diploconos (Solanaceae) – uma alternativa para novas cultivares comerciais de frutas comestíveis (udesc.br) https://www.revistas.udesc.br/index.php/agroveterinaria/article/view/21311/13799 Rev.
