Villous Deadly Carrot (Thapsia villosa) - 2 seeds
A difficult-to-find (commercially) umbelliferous plant from southern Europe, which, despite being poisonous, has been used medicinally for at least hundreds of years. This species has recently received attention due to the discovery of highly effective substances isolated from it in treating Covid-19. Research is underway into its use in treating Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease (but we advise against self-medication without consulting a doctor). This plant has also been used to poison fish and has been planted in gardens for ornamental purposes. We're not certain, but we suspect that the seeds are best sown topically in spring in a warm location (greenhouse, windowsill, etc.). The plant should have light, well-drained soil. It likely tolerates only light frosts. A pack of two fresh seeds is available for sale. Only 2-3 packs are available for sale.
