Nightshade's hybrid (Solanum nitidibaccatum x scabrum) - 7 seeds
A hybrid of two species of nightshade from the Solanum section Solanum. One parent - Garden Huckleberry (Solanum scabrum = S. melanocaerasum), is cultivated worldwide for its relatively large edible fruit, and some varieties also for its leaves used as a vegetable. The other parent - Argentinian Nightshade (Solanum nitidibaccatum = S. sarrachoides subsp. nitidibaccatum), is a nightshade rarely used as a fruit plant. The F1 generation of our hybrid was a plant with intermediate characteristics, with rather small, greenish fruit and very small seeds. The F2 generation could be very interesting – splitting of characteristics should be observed. We don't know if the fruit of this hybrid is safe to eat, but it could be a treat for those interested in crossbreeding species and developing new varieties of fruit plants. Obtaining this hybrid wasn't easy, and it's rare in the trade. We recommend surface sowing in pots at home without any pre-sowing treatment. Packet of 7 very small seeds.
