This plant was found growing wild in Japan (Kyoto). It's a rare perennial, very frost-resistant form. From several years, it has been overwintering without a problem in our garden in zone 6b/7a (mulched in winter). So it's a very valuable, frost-resistant, perennial form. According to Ken Fern's database, this plant is used for various purposes, including vegetables and medicine. However, care should be taken with it, as it can sting severely. Rarity in trading. The seeds likely do require cold stratification period to germinating. Package 7 fresh seeds.
