Wild Tomato (Lycopersicon pennellii) - form small-fruited - 12 fresh seeds

Wild Tomato (Lycopersicon pennellii) - form small-fruited - 12 fresh seeds
(Synonymous name: Solanum pennellii)
This is a wild species native to northern Peru (Piura) and northern Chile (Tarapacá) (dry, rocky terrain and sandy areas at sea level up to 3,000 m above sea level). It is very different from other tomatoes (it has a distinctive appearance) and belongs to the monotypic "Neolycopersicon" group – an intermediate between tomatoes and potatoes. It is unknown whether its fruit is edible, but it has a rather pleasant flavor. This species is sometimes used to graft a giant (approximately 8 m) vine – Solanum ochranthum = Lycopersicon ochranthum (Solanum section Juglandifolia) – to produce small (2 m) plants with fruit in the second year.
Rarities in the trade. Can be crossed with other tomatoes (including the common tomato) to produce hybrids with intermediate characteristics.
Package: 12 fresh seeds. Only a few packets available.
