Turkmenian Mandrake (Mandragora turcomanica) - 5 seeds
A difficult-to-find (commercially) plant, although poisonous, has been used medicinally and even as a fruit (though we don't know how its fruit is prepared for food—the seeds certainly shouldn't be eaten!). Seeds are best sown topically, in spring, in a warm place (greenhouse, on a windowsill, etc.). Germination may be improved by soaking the seeds in gibberellic acid (GA3) (a 1500-2000 ppm solution for 12-24 hours). The plant should have light, well-drained soil. It likely tolerates even severe frosts. A pack of 5 fresh seeds is available for sale. Only a few packs are available for sale.
