The sale includes seeds harvested from an F2 hybrid of two Physalis:
- Physalis philadelphica – known as tomatillo, whose fruit is used as a vegetable (like tomatoes).
- Physalis nicandroides – a huge, annual Physalis from Mexico.
The fruit of the F1 plant had a flavor similar to tomatillo (only smaller), and overall, tomatillo traits dominated the phenotype. Subsequent generations should show trait splitting (some individuals should be more similar to Ph. philadelphica, others to Ph. nicandroides, and there should also be individuals with new trait combinations).
Package of 12 fresh seeds. Only a few packages are available for sale.
