Tomato 'Danuta' - (Solanum arcanum x lycopersicon) (BC2) - 5 nasion
We managed to create a variety with a 25% share of the wild, small-fruited species (Solanum arcanum), which produces large fruit. These fruits are very soft and have a rather delicate skin, but if handled gently, they can last a long time. They are delicious and have very few seeds. This is our only variety that could have potential for commercial cultivation. We don't know its stability. The plant is self-compatible, so a single plant is enough to produce fruit. 'Danuta' has 75% genetics derived from the cultivated tomato. Here we offer seeds that will produce plants of the BC2 generation. The photos show BC1 plants—those that produced BC2 seeds. Creating this variety took us years. It was truly challenging to create a hybrid with a significant share of the wild, small-fruited species that produces such large fruit. ...How we did it—we're keeping it a secret for now. If you're passionate about growing unique tomato varieties, you've come to the right place. This package contains 5 fresh seeds.
