Hybrid of hardy tamarillo (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) 'Pinczow 1' x 'Iwona 1' (BC1 x BC1) - 1 seedling in a pot

The hybrid seedling (hand-pollinated) of two (not existing already) highly prized varieties - 'Pinczow 1' ('Pinczow Springs') [BC1 - (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum)] and 'Iwona 1' [BC1 - (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x diploconos]). 'Pinczow 1' was frost-resistant, but its fruit had a delicate, tart flavor. 'Iwona 1' was less frost-resistant, but its fruit was delicious. This hybrid is 50% genes of Solanum corymbiflorum and 50% S. diploconos (so can be included to "Lynn Group"). It is probably frost-resistant, but it is not yet known how strong it is (probably each seedling will be different, because by crossing BC1 with another BC1, a very diverse range of plants is obtained among the offspring, due to the splitting of traits. Also, the variability in fruit taste, frost resistance, growth strength, etc. among these seedlings can be very large. However, it is a directed hybrid of some of the best varieties, so you can expect very valuable seedlings (in most cases). Each such successful seedling can become a new, vegetatively propagated variety. Package: 1 seedling (obtained from seed) in a pot of about 0.7 liters. Only a few packages are available.
