Blue bulrush, "ground chestnut" (Bolboschoenus glaucus) - 5 tubers
A marsh plant that produces underground tubers. These are edible. Formerly, flour was made from them. There are several species, formerly classified as the single species B. maritimus. Recently, this taxon has been separated into smaller ones. B. glucus is characterized by narrow leaves and a preference for freshwater or slightly saline wetlands. It occurs throughout much of Eurasia. In North America, it has spread as a weed in rice fields. It is resistant to frost and fluctuating humidity levels. It is a rarity in the trade. The plant is also uncommon in the wild. We cultivate several species of this genus, which differ in origin or botanical details. We selling a package of five fresh, undried tubers. We include a plant passport with orders.
